FC 27 Update 1.0.4 Focuses on Career Mode Fixes

October 06, 2026

EA SPORTS FC 27 update 1.0.4 is set to release tomorrow, October 7, with a strong focus on Career Mode. The update adjusts player generation and transfer negotiations while fixing several issues affecting Manager Career, Live Start Points and the Liga MX calendar. EA has confirmed that update 1.0.4 contains no gameplay balance or tuning changes.

💼 Career Mode Receives the Main Changes

EA has reduced the number of high-OVR and high-potential players that can be generated in Manager Career. This change specifically targets the generation of players during Career Mode saves.

Transfer negotiations have also been adjusted. Offering a transfer fee significantly higher than a club's requested price will no longer result in an immediate acceptance, with the club still providing a response to the offer.

The update also fixes several Career Mode issues:

  • Players could be unable to sign Free Agents when the transfer market was disabled or outside an active transfer window.
  • CPU counteroffers could incorrectly exceed the club's originally demanded or guaranteed fees.
  • A stability issue could occur when selecting certain teams in Live Start Points.
  • The Liga MX season could restart in May instead of the intended mid-January.

🛠️Ultimate Team and Other Fixes

In Ultimate Team, EA has fixed an issue that could cause a Service Unavailable error after completing certain matches. Another issue involving Player Picks could also display Hyper Cosmetic variants of base items, despite those items not being intended to have the holographic visual variants.

The Grounds receives fixes for a loading issue when viewing the active club from the Player Profile, as well as incorrect post-match UI flow.

The update also includes updated Player Indicator colours on PS5, a fix for unintended teams appearing when randomising teams in Kick-Off in FC Lite, and several general stability fixes.

FC 27 update 1.0.4 releases tomorrow, October 7. No gameplay balance or tuning changes are included in this update.
