Motorsport Manager 2 Showcases Its New Dynamic Weather System

October 30, 2026

Motorsport Manager 2 is introducing a revamped dynamic weather system that will make wet races more unpredictable, with rain affecting different sections of a circuit independently. In the second episode of From The Pit Wall, the developers from Playport explained how the new mechanics will influence tire strategy, driver performance and race conditions.

🌧️More Realistic Weather and Tire Strategy

Unlike the original game, where the entire circuit shared the same weather conditions, Motorsport Manager 2 will simulate rainfall across individual track sections. Each area will have its own water levels and temperature, influenced by rainfall, air temperature and circuit drainage. This will make tire decisions considerably more challenging. Slicks can lose grip in wet sections, while intermediate and wet tires can overheat as the track dries. Drivers will also be able to move away from the racing line to manage tire temperatures.

There will be no predetermined moment to change tires. Teams will have to assess conditions and decide when to take the risk, while AI opponents will make their own strategic calls.

🛞Driver Skills Will Matter in Wet Conditions

Drivers will have a dedicated wet weather attribute that modifies their braking and cornering abilities, as well as their likelihood of making mistakes. Those who struggle in the rain may run wide, lose control or crash when pushing too hard.

The developers also confirmed that wet conditions will affect car performance. A strong wet weather driver with a competitive strategy could therefore achieve better results even with a less capable car.

📊More Information During Races

The weather interface is still being developed, with the team planning to provide more detailed information about track conditions and individual sectors. Driver radio messages will also be adapted to report changing conditions and help players make better decisions. Playport confirmed that red flags will not be included, although Safety Cars and Virtual Safety Cars will return. Car spray is currently visual only, while more detailed weather customization in Single Race mode remains under consideration.

The developers also confirmed that tire models, driver behavior and strategies will be moddable through XML files. The dynamic weather system is still being refined ahead of release.
