Pearl Abyss has shared a new preview of Charting the Unknown, an upcoming DLC for Crimson Desert. The expansion will introduce ocean exploration, shipbuilding, romance and marriage, expanded business management, customizable homes, and new boss challenges. The developer has outlined the DLC's main features, but has not announced a release date. The preview does not confirm a price or supported platforms for the expansion either.
🌊 Ocean Exploration and Shipbuilding
The Great Ocean, surrounding the eastern and southern coasts of Pywel, will become a major exploration area. Players can unlock shipbuilding after establishing the Greymanes' Camp, gather resources, construct and customize vessels, and sail to islands occupied by enemy factions or awaiting discovery.
Players can bring mercenaries to establish new nodes on these islands. Underwater exploration will also expand with craftable diving suits, allowing players to discover submerged ruins, treasures, and resources.
❤️ Romance, Marriage, and Customizable Homes
Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka will be able to develop romantic relationships with certain inhabitants, potentially leading to marriage. Trusted companions can also visit the Greymanes' Camp, making it feel more lively.
Housing customization will allow players to redesign interiors and adjust structural elements such as walls and windows. Certain liberated castles can also be claimed as personal residences and decorated.
🏰 Business Management and New Boss Challenges
The DLC will let players manage selected liberated nodes directly by renting facilities, assigning equipment and companions, choosing which goods to sell, and running businesses to increase their popularity.
For combat-focused players, a new challenge will feature consecutive battles against powerful bosses encountered throughout Pywel. Completing these encounters will reward players with valuable items.
📅 DLC Release Date Still Unannounced
Charting the Unknown is an upcoming expansion for Crimson Desert. Pearl Abyss has revealed several of its planned features, but a release date, price, and platform details have yet to be confirmed in the published preview.
