ARC Raiders is now free to play for a limited time, giving players the chance to experience the full game from October 8 through October 12. The free period coincides with the launch of Frozen Trail, the game's biggest update since release. The promotion is available across Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the full game accessible during the event rather than a limited demo. The free-play period runs from 09:00 UTC on October 8 until 08:00 UTC on October 12.

Frozen Trail expands ARC Raiders with the new Pendola Pass map, taking players beyond the Rust Belt into a snowy mountain region. The update also introduces new ARC threats, including the Bully, Skulker, and Hydra, alongside the Frigate map condition. The update adds two new weapons, the Bantam and Stiletto, as well as new equipment such as the Grappling Hook, Tether Launcher, Yank Grenade, cameras and the Mountaineer's Detector. Players can also build and expand a new Outpost, with furniture designs and a Research Bench.
