Playsport Games has officially announced Motorsport Manager 2,
the first PC sequel to the beloved motorsport management simulator
since the original game launched in 2016. The title is scheduled to
arrive on Steam in 2027.Β The reveal was accompanied by a teaser trailer and a timely promotion for newcomers, with the original Motorsport Manager currently available at an 80% discount during the Steam Summer Sale.
The Series Returns After Almost 10 Years
Nearly a decade after the first game established itself as one of the most popular management sims in motorsport, Playsport is returning to the franchise with a larger and more ambitious sequel.
As in the original, players will take control of a racing organization as Team Principal, overseeing everything from driver recruitment and staff management to car development, financial planning, and race-day strategy.
The sequel will feature multiple racing categories, including Single Seater, GT, and Endurance championships, each with its own challenges and long-term progression systems.
Smarter AI and Dynamic Weather
Rather than radically changing the formula, Motorsport Manager 2 focuses on expanding the depth of the simulation. One of the headline additions is a dynamic weather system that can affect different sections of a circuit independently, creating more complex strategic decisions during races.
The AI has also received significant upgrades and will react more effectively to incidents, weather changes, and rival strategies, making races less predictable and more competitive.
Because the game is not tied to official motorsport licenses, players will have extensive freedom to create custom teams, drivers, rivalries, and championships while shaping their own racing stories.
Full Mod Support at Launch
Modding played a major role in the longevity of the original game, and Playsport has confirmed that full mod support will be available from day one. According to the studio, the sequel is being designed with long-term community creativity in mind, allowing players to create new championships, teams, and custom content.
"Motorsport Manager has never really left us, and it clearly never left the community either," said Project Lead Matt Hanlon. "For years, fans have kept the game alive through mods, discussions, videos, feedback, and countless hours of play. Motorsport Manager 2 is being made for the people who never stopped believing in the series."
A full gameplay showcase is planned for Autumn 2026, with additional details about the game's management systems and simulation mechanics expected before then.
