Tour de France 2026 Launch Trailer Drops — Rain Makes Things Slippery

June 04, 2026 · 👁0

Nacon and Cyanide Studios have released the official launch trailer for Tour de France 2026, and this year’s big headline is weather. Real-time rain, temperature changes, and slippery roads are now part of the race — and yes, you can absolutely crash because you braked too hard. The game is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

Rain Changes Everything

For the first time in the series, dynamic weather isn't just a visual gimmick. Rain makes the terrain slick, turning every corner or descent into a potential disaster. You'll need to adapt your trajectory and braking distance — brake too late, you skid. Brake too hard, you also skid. Either way, you might end up kissing the asphalt while your rivals pedal away.

Each rider has an agility rating that actually matters now. A rider with A+ agility can take looser lines and recover from near-crashes more easily. Everyone else? Good luck.

Forecasts, Surprises, and Sleeves

You can check weather forecasts before each stage, but don't get too comfortable. A sunny start can turn into a downpour by the final climb. For stage races like the Tour, you can see forecasts for the current stage and the next three days — enough to plan, but not enough to feel safe.

  • Temperature affects what your rider wears: short jerseys in heat, arm warmers and long bibs in cold.
  • Weather is customizable in MyTour modes and private Criterium multiplayer matches.
  • Unreal Engine 5 powers the whole thing, adding realistic lighting and weather effects.

Same Tour, New Details

The game faithfully reproduces all 21 stages of the 2026 Grande Boucle, starting in Barcelona (Sagrada Familia gets a nice cameo) and ending in Paris near the Sacré-Cœur. You can ride as Pogacar, Vingegaard, or other licensed pros with their official jerseys and teams. It's still the same core sim racing experience — just wetter and more unpredictable.
