The king of football is back in the game. Are you ready to play with the five-star champions? Brazil National Team returns to EA FC.
In a move that has sent shockwaves through the gaming and football world, EA SPORTS and the Brazilian Football Confederation have officially announced a new multi-year licensing and marketing partnership. This historic agreement marks the full return of the Brazil National Team to the EA SPORTS FC ecosystem, ending years of absence and generic rosters.Â
For several cycles, fans of the franchise had to settle for a Brazilian squad filled with generic names and faces due to an exclusive arrangement between the CBF and rival title eFootball. With this new deal, the iconic yellow-and-green kits, the official crest, and the true-to-life likenesses of the Seleção stars will be fully integrated. Â
The partnership is set to deliver "authentic and immersive football experiences" across multiple platforms:
EA SPORTS FC 26: The first flagship title to feature the fully licensed squad from day one.
EA SPORTS FC Mobile: Exclusive content and live events featuring Brazilian legends and current stars. Â
Joint Marketing: Collaboration on digital storytelling and fan engagement initiatives leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The announcement, made during Gamescom Latam 2026 in São Paulo, comes at a crucial time. With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, having the most successful nation in football history fully licensed is a massive win for EA Sports as it seeks to maintain its dominance in the sports simulation market. Â
CBF President Samir Xaud emphasized that this partnership is a key step in modernizing how the Brazilian brand reaches the next generation: "Together, we will create new ways to celebrate our National Team and our legacy with fans around the world."
| Feature | Status |
| Official Kits & Crest | Fully Licensed |
| Real Player Names/Likeness | Included |
| Platforms | Console, PC, and Mobile |
| Duration | Multi-year agreement |
Despite this breakthrough with the national side, fans should note that this agreement does not include the return of the Brazilian domestic league (Série A) or its individual clubs. While the "Seleção" operates under the centralized jurisdiction of the CBF, the rights for club teams remain a complex legal challenge.
Unlike European leagues where licensing is often collective, Brazilian legislation and the current structure of its football leagues require EA Sports to negotiate image rights individually with each player and separately with each club. This fragmented landscape makes it extremely difficult to secure a full league license. Consequently, while you will be able to lead Brazil to World Cup glory with its official stars, the domestic clubs will continue to appear only through their participation in CONMEBOL competitions (Libertadores and Sudamericana), often with generic player rosters.
