Modern Warfare 4 PC Trailer Showcases Ray Tracing, DLSS 4.5 and More
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is bringing a wide range of PC-specific features, including enhanced FOV, ultrawide displays, HDR10+, ray tracing and multiple upscaling technologies.
💻Modern Warfare 4 PC Features Revealed
Activision and Infinity Ward have released a new PC trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, offering a closer look at the technical features and customization options coming to the PC version.
PC players will have access to more than 800 customization options covering graphics, gameplay, input devices and the interface. The game will automatically configure settings based on the player's hardware, while higher-end systems can scale up to higher resolutions and frame rates.
The PC version will support 1080p, 1440p, 4K and Ultrawide displays, alongside HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
👀Enhanced FOV and Improved Visibility
One of the most notable additions is Enhanced FOV, an option exclusive to PC. Rather than simply increasing the traditional field of view, the system uses physically accurate lens effects to expand peripheral vision while preserving the size of targets near the center of the screen.
Modern Warfare 4 also introduces several changes designed to improve visibility during combat. Muzzle effects can be dynamically masked around the point of aim, helping keep targets visible without removing the visual effects.
The Depth of Field settings have also been separated into World Depth of Field and Weapon Depth of Field, allowing players to customize these effects independently.
⚡Ray Tracing and Upscaling
Ray tracing will be available across Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ, bringing enhanced reflections, shadows and lighting to all major game modes.
Modern Warfare 4 will also support several image reconstruction and frame-generation technologies:
- NVIDIA DLSS 4.5
- AMD FSR Redstone
- Intel XeSS 3
- Filmic SMAA T2X
PC players will also receive a new global sharpness slider, additional shading quality options and improvements to Screen Space Reflections, Shadow Filtering, Occlusion and Screen Space Lighting.
🖥️90 FPS Target and Benchmark Tool
Activision says Modern Warfare 4 is targeting 90 FPS at the recommended PC specifications while running Multiplayer at High settings.
A built-in Benchmark Tool will allow players to test their systems using a simulated multiplayer sequence. The tool reports Average FPS, CPU and GPU performance, ping and input latency, followed by a more detailed breakdown and recommended settings.
The game will also introduce sub-frame mouse polling to improve mouse precision and aiming responsiveness.
💻Modern Warfare 4 PC System Requirements
Activision has published three hardware configurations for the PC version, ranging from the minimum requirements to a system capable of running the game at 4K with High Ray Tracing settings.

The recommended configuration is designed to deliver 90 FPS in Multiplayer at High settings, while the Ray Tracing configuration targets 4K with High-quality Ray Tracing using upscaling.
The currently listed recommended drivers are AMD 26.7.1, NVIDIA 616.56 and Intel 32.0.101.8974. Activision also notes that an ASD-compatible NVIDIA driver will be released on October 21.
📈Advanced Shader Delivery and Faster Updates
Modern Warfare 4 will replace traditional shader preloading with Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD). The system delivers precompiled shaders ahead of time to reduce the preparation required before playing.
Activision recommends installing the Xbox PC app even when using another supported PC platform if players want to take advantage of ASD.
The game will also reduce interruptions caused by updates. Updates will no longer require a restart during game boots, although players who are already in a match can still be required to restart between matches when an update goes live.
🔒RICOCHET Anti-Cheat and PC Security
The PC version will use the latest RICOCHET Anti-Cheat systems, combining server-side detections with hardware-based protections and investigations.
TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required to play Modern Warfare 4 on PC. Intel Arc GPUs also require Resizable BAR, while Intel and AMD processors with AVX instructions are supported.
📅PC Preload and Release Date
PC preload will begin on October 15 at 9 AM PT. Players who digitally pre-order Modern Warfare 4 will receive access to the Campaign starting October 16.
The full game will launch on October 23, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Battle.net, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.
