One of the most notable returning features is Cup Draws. Instead of simply receiving your next opponent through a message, FM27 brings back a dedicated draw experience. The draw begins with a presentation hosted within the game, giving managers the option to draw the next team, draw all remaining teams or speed up the automatic draw. This restores the anticipation of watching your club's name come out of the proverbial hat, whether you are facing a local rival or hoping for a major giant-killing opportunity.

Transfer Deadline Day is also returning to Football Manager, with Sports Interactive looking to recreate the sense of occasion surrounding the final hours of the transfer window. The changes are part of a broader overhaul of transfer market behaviour. Agent Offers will now be visible directly from the Recruitment screen throughout the transfer window instead of only appearing around Deadline Day. The new system will also provide more information as transfer activity develops, with additional activity expected as Deadline Day approaches.

Another important addition is greater control over how quickly the game progresses. FM27 introduces different processing options that allow managers to decide how frequently the game should stop for messages, results, fixtures and news. A new custom option provides even more control, allowing these elements to be configured individually. The behaviour of the 'Continue' button can also be adjusted, with players able to choose whether it processes messages or continues through unread messages. These settings can be changed at any point during a save through the Preferences menu, giving managers the flexibility to adapt the experience to their preferred style of play.
