Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Alongside the release, the launch trailer has been released, giving players a look at the latest anime soccer action game based on the popular Captain Tsubasa series. The sequel once again follows Tsubasa Ozora and the Japan national team as they face national squads from around the world in their bid to advance through the highly contested World Youth Championship.

22 National Teams and More Than 110 Playable Characters

World Fighters expands the roster and international scope of the series, featuring 22 national teams and more than 110 playable characters. The game also includes more than 150 cinematic scenes depicting special moves and key encounters during matches. The story continues from where the first game ended, following Tsubasa and Japan as they face new opponents on their road through the World Youth Championship. The game's story is also supervised by Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of Captain Tsubasa.

New Super Moves and Gameplay Systems

Matches are built around the series' trademark special techniques, with players able to use different types of Super Moves during key moments. These include special passes, dribbles, tackles and shots, while goalkeeper encounters have also been expanded with additional mechanics.

  • Max Actions: High-risk, high-reward actions that can be used during offensive and defensive situations.
  • Super Moves: Character-specific abilities including Super Shots, Super Passes, Super Dribbles and Super Tackles.
  • Chain System: Players can build momentum through dribbles, passes and special actions to increase shot power and speed up charge times.
  • Goalkeeper Tactics: Goalkeeper battles include directional prediction, stamina management and mechanics designed to reduce a goalkeeper's stamina.
  • Miracle Actions: Special actions that can help create opportunities for comebacks during matches.

Create Your Own Player

The sequel also introduces the New Stars Route, allowing players to create their own character and add them to the Japan national team. The custom player can then take part in the team's journey toward the World Youth Championship alongside Tsubasa and the rest of the squad.

Alongside the main story, World Fighters includes competitive options for players who want to take the action online or locally. On PC, the game supports online PvP as well as local split-screen PvP.
