Gamescom 2026 continued with another packed day of announcements,
gameplay reveals, and new trailers. Following Tuesday's Opening Night
Live, Wednesday brought two major showcases with Xbox @ gamescom and the Future Games Show at gamescom, delivering fresh looks at some of the year's most anticipated games alongside several new projects.
🎮Gears of War: E-Day
Gears of War: E-Day was one of the biggest highlights of the Xbox showcase, with a behind-the-scenes look at the technologies being used to enhance the PC version. DLSS 4.5 and RTX Mega Geometry will provide improved image quality, higher frame rates, and more responsive controls.The highly anticipated prequel launches on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
🎮Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 received a new gameplay teaser focused on Drift Attack, a new mode designed around precision drifting. Players will compete for the highest scores by maintaining and chaining controlled drifts. Drift Attack is coming in September 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
🎮Fable
Xbox also offered another look at Fable, giving players a deeper glimpse at the upcoming RPG from Playground Games. The new footage provided more insight into its world, characters, exploration, and gameplay.
🎮Persona 4 Revival
Persona 4 Revival was another major highlight, with a new gameplay trailer showcasing Atlus' full remake of Persona 4 Golden. The modernized version features redesigned visuals, a revamped interface, updated combat, reworked events, and other changes aimed at introducing the classic RPG to a new generation. Persona 4 Revival launches on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
🎮Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis also appeared during the Xbox presentation, offering another look at Lara Croft's upcoming adventure. The game is reimagining the classic Tomb Raider experience for modern platforms while returning to one of the franchise's most iconic locations.
🎮Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom brought Onimusha: Way of the Sword to the Future Games Show with new gameplay footage. The upcoming action title continues to showcase its fast-paced sword combat as players battle the demonic Genma across a reimagined version of feudal Japan. Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
🎮Worms: Galactic Tactics
The Future Games Show opened with Worms: Galactic Tactics, a new turn-based tactical spin on the iconic series. The game combines the familiar Worms formula with roguelike elements, while the showcase also revealed that a new mainline Worms game is in development. Worms: Galactic Tactics is planned for 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
🎮Tides of Annihilation
Tides of Annihilation received an extended deep dive, offering a closer look at its dark fantasy world, story, and combat. Set in a devastated version of London, the action-adventure draws heavily from Arthurian legends as players attempt to restore the city after an otherworldly invasion. The game is in development for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
🎮Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Star Wars: Galactic Racer received a deeper presentation covering its vehicles, gameplay systems, and approach to racing within the Star Wars universe. The game is scheduled to launch on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
🎮Serious Sam: Shatterverse
Fans of chaotic shooters also got a new look at Serious Sam: Shatterverse, a roguelite FPS that takes the series into a multiverse filled with alternate versions of its iconic protagonist. The game supports up to five-player co-op and is set to launch on August 31, 2026.
🎮The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival brought Negan into the spotlight with a new gameplay trailer. Armed with his trademark bat Lucille, the character joins the arcade-style beat 'em up's roster of playable survivors. The game launches on September 18 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
More New Reveals
The Future Games Show also introduced several completely new projects, including Wolcen 2, Alkimya: House of Wisdom, Kingdom 3: Rising Realms, Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, NO LAW, and Escape from Playtime. The showcase featured more than 40 games overall, including 13 world premieres.
Another Strong Day at Gamescom
The second day of Gamescom 2026 proved that the event had plenty left after Opening Night Live. Xbox delivered major updates on Gears of War: E-Day, Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and Persona 4 Revival, while the Future Games Show provided a broader mix of established franchises, ambitious new projects, and world premieres.
With several more presentations still scheduled throughout the week, Gamescom 2026 is only getting started.
