The Red Bull driver was 0.298 seconds faster than Lewis Hamilton, who will join him on the front row. Isack Hadjar qualified third but will drop five places due to a grid penalty, promoting Kimi Antonelli to third.
It is Verstappen's 49th career pole and his first since the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
