49ers win the first-ever regular-season game in Australia!
The San Francisco 49ers dominated the Los Angeles Rams 27-7 in the NFL’s historic first regular-season game in Australia. Brock Purdy threw three touchdown passes, while San Francisco’s defense controlled Matthew Stafford and the Rams throughout the game.
The 49ers built a 24-7 lead in the fourth quarter before Eddy Piñeiro added a 56-yard field goal to seal the victory. Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans and Demarcus Robinson all caught touchdown passes from Purdy.
It was also a tough night for San Francisco due to injuries to De’Zhaun Stribling and Jake Tonges, while the Rams' revamped defense struggled to contain the 49ers' offense.
