Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion Adds New Species & Campaign Update

June 16, 2026

Frontier Developments plc, in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, has released Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion. The expansion adds new locations, species, and management systems, and is set prior to the events of Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s film Jurassic World Rebirth.

New locations on ÃŽle Saint-Hubert

The expansion introduces three top-secret sites on ÃŽle Saint-Hubert: the Main Facility, Ancient Valley, and Riverside Lab. Each location features its own layout and management challenges, requiring players to adapt their park-building strategies across different environments. For the first time in the series, these sites feature geothermal energy as a core system. Players can use naturally abundant power sources and upgrade output across the island, adding another layer to facility planning alongside a shared cash system that links site progression.

Four new species and expanded creature roster

At the center of the expansion are four new species: Mutadon, Aquilops, Titanosaurus, and Distortus rex. Each introduces new behavioral and management considerations for Site Managers overseeing park operations. Alongside them, several returning species receive movie-accurate models and skins, including the Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Dilophosaurus, and Velociraptor.

New systems: aviary, traits, and progression

The expansion introduces an open-air aviary system designed to house flying species in a more flexible environment. It allows for increased flying height and removes visual obstructions, while also supporting more demanding creatures such as Mutadons, known for their escape potential. Park management is further expanded through seven experimental traits. These come with higher costs and stronger effects, allowing players to modify dinosaur biology, behavior, and interactions with ranger teams or other species.

Assignments system and campaign structure

Progression has been reworked with a new Assignments system. Instead of a single linear path, players can choose between priority Assignments that advance the main story or optional tasks that unlock genomes, experimental traits, research opportunities, and additional Assignments. This structure gives players more flexibility in how they approach the campaign, with different progression routes depending on their focus across the three island locations.
