The EA FC 26 TrueFoot v1.6 gameplay update makes major changes to goalkeeper behaviour and defensive positioning, with keepers finally stepping off their line in one-on-one situations and teams defending more as a unit. The update also introduces changes to physical play, headers, CPU behaviour, and restarts.
🧤Goalkeepers Finally Come Out
Keepers can now read runners and step out to confront attackers instead of waiting on their line. They also react to angled attacks and start from a slightly higher position.
🛡ï¸Defending Built Around Shape
Fullbacks now hold their zones instead of chasing wingers inside, while midfielders provide more defensive cover across the pitch. Deeper midfielders can track runners into the second press, and defenders step up to attackers coming toward them.
💪Physical Play and Headers
Contact, shoulder duels and shielding have been tuned, while winning the ball is less automatic. Headed shots are sharper, but headed passes, knockdowns and clearances are looser to create more second-ball situations.
🎮More Gameplay Changes
- Faster goal kicks and throw-ins.
- More powerful CPU shooting and improved passing vision.
- Goalkeepers can kick long instead of always rolling the ball out.
- Adjusted ball weight and air drag.
- Losing teams continue trying to play instead of fading away.
The rebuilt Tuning Pack includes 47 options, with new settings for goalkeeper aggression, header accuracy, fullback support, midfield cover and winger tracking.
