Sabitzer earned his card after scoring the winning goal in Dortmund's DFB-Pokal victory over Werder Bremen. Nyoni's inclusion is a little harder to explain, considering that he didn't exactly deliver a standout performance in Liverpool's penalty shootout win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup. However, Liverpool fans did vote him Player of the Match, so perhaps EA had their reasons after all.
Ta Bi's selection makes perfect sense after his impressive performance against Brentford, where he provided two assists (with some reports even crediting him with three). Lynch undoubtedly earned his reward following his outstanding display in Fleetwood's incredible penalty shootout victory over Arsenal, making several crucial saves along the way.
Finally, Baumgartl was part of the St. Louis CITY side that lifted the US Open Cup after beating Columbus Crew on penalties. He also converted his spot-kick in the shootout, although goalkeeper Ben Lundt was arguably the real hero of that final.
