EA FC 27 FUT Developer Update Reveals Early Trends and Upcoming Changes

October 01, 2026

EA has published its first FUT Developer Notes for EA SPORTS FC 27, sharing early data from Ultimate Team and outlining several improvements already in development. The update covers Evolutions, SBCs, rewards, Live Events, The Gallery and Transfer Market activity.

📊 Early FUT 27 Data

According to EA, coin balances are more than 50% higher than at the same point last year, while Transfer Market activity has increased. A higher share of Starting XI players are also being acquired directly from the market.

PvE Live Events are currently the third most-played FUT experience, behind Rivals and Squad Battles. EA plans to expand their functionality during the opening Seasons.

PvE (Player vs. Environment) Live Events are FUT events where you play against AI-controlled teams rather than other players.

More than 350,000 players have linked their EA Accounts with authorized sites such as FUT.GG, FUTBIN and FUTWIZ. EA is working to make more FUT data available through these integrations.

🔄 Evolutions and SBCs

EA says it is closely monitoring feedback on Evolutions and the pace of squad upgrades. Evolution tuning was changed this year as part of a broader balance between Evolutions, rewards, SBCs and the Transfer Market. Streamlined SBCs have also received positive feedback. The feature was added to the Companion App on September 28, while EA is considering further quality-of-life improvements, including ways to prevent players from being accidentally submitted.

🎁 Rewards and Campaigns

EA has reduced the number of Store offers and changed their structure. Campaign squads will also be smaller, with a tighter OVR range, with the aim of making more items relevant to Starting XIs. The team is also monitoring the increased end-of-match rewards, particularly after players reach daily SP limits and weekly reward milestones.

🔜 What's Next

EA plans to expand PvE Live Events, add more ways to reward matches later in the year, continue updating The Gallery with new Sets and Token Store content, and provide additional FUT data to partner sites.A FUT-specific Q&A will also take place on the official EA SPORTS FC Discord, with the date and time still to be announced.
