The camera finally follows the story of the match. When the ball goes dead, it can stay with the shooter or pick any player involved in the move; on a foul, it cuts to the player who made it, and when the referee signals an advantage, it gives you a quick shot of the ref. It works with Broadcast, custom cameras, and every other camera in the game.
Focus That Follows the Action
- Out-of-play player focus: After a shot or dead ball, the camera focuses on the shooter or another player involved in the move.
- Foul focus: The camera cuts to the player who committed the foul.
- Referee focus: After an advantage signal, the camera briefly focuses on the referee.
- Universal camera support: Works with Broadcast, custom cameras and any camera module. No separate camera mod is required.
- Per-stadium settings: Configure common or stadium-specific values directly from the overlay.
- Lightweight: Only changes which player the camera focuses on, without affecting game rendering.
What's New in v1.1
- New default settings: focus on any involved player, referee zoom-in shot, 2.60 m framing, 1.00-second duration and 1.00 pan strength.
- Simplified overlay with only three options: Player Focus (out of play), Player Focus (foul) and Referee Focus.
- Referee shot type, framing, duration and pan strength moved to MatchFocus.ini for manual configuration.
- Packaged as a proper installable mod with a README.
Features
- Three focus moments: out-of-play player, foul and referee advantage.
- Three referee shot types: pan, zoom-in and close-up.
- Adjustable referee framing, duration and pan strength.
- Player focus modes: game default, main player or any involved player.
- Foul focus modes: game default or the player who committed the foul.
- All settings available through the Sider overlay, with advanced referee options configurable through the INI file.
- Per-stadium settings with common/stadium configuration switching.
- Compatible with BroadCastCam 2.4 DHV88+ and other camera modules.
Installation
Copy the SiderAddons folder from the ZIP archive into your game root directory.
Open SiderAddons\sider.ini and make sure the following lines are present:
lua.enabled = 1
luajit.ext.enabled = 1
lua.module = "lib\nesalib.lua"
lua.module = "MatchFocus.lua"
Requirements: Sider 6.2.3+ and nesalib. A copy of nesalib is included in the package. If you already have a newer version, keep your existing copy.
Use BroadCastCam 2.4 DHV88+ (player and referee focus features have been moved out of it). If your current BroadCastCam version still includes these features, update it first to avoid running both focus implementations.
When updating from an older version, back up SiderAddons\modules\MatchFocus.ini to preserve your custom settings.
If focus stops working after a game update, delete SiderAddons\MatchFocus.cache to allow the module to scan again.
In-Game Controls
Open the Sider overlay and select Match Focus.
- 9 / 0: Choose a setting.
- - / +: Change the selected setting.
- 8: Restore defaults.
- 7: Switch between common and stadium settings.
The available options are:
- Player Focus (out of play)
- Player Focus (foul)
- Referee Focus (off/on)
Referee Shot Tuning
Advanced referee shot options are no longer available in the overlay. To customize them, edit SiderAddons\modules\MatchFocus.ini:
ref_focus_mode = 1
ref_focus_size = 2.60
ref_focus_time = 1.00
ref_focus_strength = 1.00
- ref_focus_mode: 0 = pan, 1 = zoom in, 2 = close-up.
- ref_focus_size: Framing height in metres (smaller values produce tighter shots).
- ref_focus_time: Shot duration in seconds.
- ref_focus_strength: Pan strength, from 0.30 to 1.00.
You can also add a [stadium id::stadium path] section to configure different values for a specific stadium.
