The wait is finally over for Battlefield fans. Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have officially kicked off Season 3, bringing a massive wave of content to both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. This season leans heavily into nostalgia while pushing the competitive envelope with the long-awaited debut of Ranked Play.
Whether you are a veteran pilot looking for open skies or a tactical squad leader ready to climb the ranks, Season 3 has something for everyone. Let’s break down the three phases of this massive update.
Starting today, players can jump into Railway to Golmud, the largest map in Battlefield 6 to date. This is a complete reimagining of the fan-favorite Battlefield 4 map, evolved for modern hardware. Expect expanded airspace for intense dogfights, more verticality, and the return of the iconic operational railway with its moving train. Phase 1 also introduces Ranked Play for Battle Royale Quads in REDSEC. Players can now climb from Rookie to Master, with a prestigious emblem reserved for the top 250 players globally. Points are earned through kills, assists, and placement, allowing you to unlock exclusive titles and player cards.

On June 9, the action moves to the streets with Cairo Bazaar. This remake of Battlefield 3’s Grand Bazaar has been relocated to Cairo, offering tight, claustrophobic alleyways perfect for ambushes. Phase 2 also marks the return of Obliteration, the classic 32v32 mode from Battlefield 4. If you prefer something even more intense, look out for Tactical Obliteration, an 8v8 variant coming later in Phase 3.

The season wraps up with High-Value Target, featuring Battlefield’s first-ever Collection Event. Players will hunt down enemies and complete professional contracts to earn exclusive cosmetics and a brand-new melee weapon.
