  POSTED October 16, 2009

Experience the thrill of wheel-to-wheel multiplayer racing in F1 2009 as Codemasters today released the latest gameplay video, available to view at www.formula1-game.com. Featuring game footage taken from the FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÊMIO DO BRASIL, the new video previews the two-player split screen fun that can be had on the Wii, which enables players to either race as team-mates or against each other in an authentic and accessible recreation of the 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

In addition to single races, players can choose to battle it out together in all 17 rounds of the Championship or take on over 150 different challenges such as flying laps, overtaking trials and scenario-based challenges. F1 2009 on Wii supports two-player split screen play, while the PSP edition supports ad hoc multiplayer for up to four racers. Tuned for portable play, Challenge Mode on PSP allows players to enjoy quick gameplay sessions in both single and multiplayer on the move.

Bringing racers together, friends and family of different skills and experience can enjoy competitive racing thanks to F1 2009's unique and intuitive Fair Race Balancing system. After two players have raced each other for the first time the game will analyse their comparative driving styles and suggest which of the Driver Aids each driver should activate/deactivate in order to have a balanced race. These range from steering and braking assistance to racing line and spin recovery, so novices and seasoned pros can find the perfect set up for head-to-head or co-operative competition.

The level of accessibility offered by F1 2009 on Wii is furthered extended, with four control schemes available to the player. The Limited Edition Wii Bundle comes complete with its very own Race Wheel with the player placing the Wii Remote in the wheel and using it just like a FORMULA ONE steering wheel. Players can also choose to connect the Nunchuck, using the analogue stick to steer or alternatively use the Classic Controller giving them analogue control of both the steering and acceleration/braking. F1 2009 also supports the Logitech Force Feedback Wheel for the Wii for the most realistic driving experience.

Set for release on 20th November, F1 2009 on Wii is the ultimate authentic recreation of the 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and delivers accessibility for the entire family while offering challenging races for more experienced driving game enthusiasts. The PSP edition, which will also be released in November, will enable up to four players to battle it out on track in an ad hoc multiplayer session and includes quick-fire challenges for the ultimate in on the go race gaming.
