This is a lighting/graphic mod for NBA 2K18.
This mod uses Reshade, an injector developed by crosire, which combines post-processing shaders by Lucifer Hawk, Ganossa, CeeJay.dk, Marty McFly, and JPulowski. All credit goes to them for creating this terrific tool.
This download includes all the files you will need to run the mod, along with 2 new 2K18 settings (described below). I also included all of my old settings for 2K15, 2K16, and 2K17, which also work on 2K18. You can switch between the settings to find one suits you. Another reason I included the old settings is that some people, like me, still play the older versions of the game from time to time, and it might be convenient to have them all in once place. This is why I stuck with Reshade 2.0.3, as I haven't converted all of the old settings to the newer versions of Reshade. I don't utilize Reshade's new shaders for the NBA 2K series, so it doesn't make much difference.
A bit about the two new 2K18 settings...
"2K18 v1" and "2K18 v2" are both designed to reduce 2K's yellowish/brownish fog (which was already greatly reduced from prior years), and give a slight "broadcast" look (halogen-like lighting). The main difference between the two versions is V1 uses the "HDR" shader, while V2 does not. If you are struggling with FPS, you might try both (V2 should be a bit less taxing).
Directions: Please follow the instructions carefully, and follow each step. You only need to do it once, then you are good to go.
1) Download the mod.
2) Extract the Reshade 2.0.3 folder to a permanent location (i.e. where you save important game files / applications).
3) Run Mediator.exe (i.e. double click it).
7) Click “Add” on the left, and locate “NBA2K18.exe” (typically c:\program files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NBA 2K18).
8) Be sure to check Direct3D 10/11 (defaults to Direct 3D9).
9) Click “Confirm”.
10) Within the black drop down box (on the right), select “2K18 v1” preset (or any of the other settings I’ve included).
11) Click “Apply” on upper right.
12) Close Mediator, fire up the game.
Important Please Read
***As you start the game, you should see Reshade load (upper left of screen).
***You can toggle the Reshade effect with the scroll lock key, and take screenshots with the print screen key. Screenshots are saved in your NBA 2K17 folder.
***You may need to adjust the brightness of your screen.
***If the game crashes on startup, try disabling steam overlay, and killing other applications (i.e. afterburner, precision, etc.). I didn’t have any problems.
***To try one of the other settings, open Mediator.exe, select NBA2K18 from the drop down menu on the left. Click Update. Be sure Direct3D 10/11 is checked. Select the present you would like to try from the drop down menu on the right, and then click apply on upper right. You should be able to Alt-Tab in and out of the game to do this.
